One of the most evident indicators of faith is obedience to the will of God. It is not primarily hearing the word of God only, but doing what He commands.
According to the Bible, it states that, but be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, not deceiving your own selves (James 1:22). This verse educates us that we should obey by means of action. The act of obedience to God is a demonstration that we trust and believe God and that His ways are superior to our ways.
There are numerous occasions, when it is difficult to obey God. What God wants against our wishes or comfort might happen. I have got to know that following my will will mostly cause some regrets whereas following God will cause peace.
The bible teaches us to have faith in the Lord and be not inclined to thine own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). This is tha
t we must trust in the wisdom of God, even when we have not clearly comprehended his plans.
The best example of obedience is Jesus Christ. He never wanted to disobey God even when He suffered. He replied, Not my will, but thy, be done (Luke 22:42). That is a sign of great humility and love to God. This is the same example that we as believers are called to do in our daily lives.
It is also blessed through obedience. According to the Bible, God states that in case ye will and obey, thou shalt eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19). This does not imply that we are not going to encounter difficulties in life but it gives us the assurance that God is content with an obedient heart.
Conclusively, obedience to the will of God is an act of love, trust, and faith. Once I decide to follow God, I get guidance, contentment and optimism. The use of obedience brings us nearer to God and sets us ready to live eternally.
God bless his word
Amen
