Holiness is beautiful, but this is not what many other people in this world actually comprehend. In the modern day world, beauty is perceived as being based on physical appearance, popularity, or wealth. Nevertheless, there is another beauty that the Bible teaches and it is known as holiness. Holiness is a separated life that is devoted to God.
It is a holy and innocent lifestyle that is characteristic of God. In Psalm 29: 2, the Bible states that he ought to give to the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. This verse demonstrates that holiness is not dull and boring. Rather, it is beautiful, and divine to God.
When I was reading and thinking of this subject there I started to realize that being holy does not mean pretending that one is perfect but making a choice of living in obedience to God. It is a step of forsaking sin and walking in the light of the truth of God.
According to 1 Peter 1:15-16, it states, that, where as he that hath called thee is holy, so art thou holy in all manner of conversation; because even it is written, Be ye holy; because I am holy. This is a clear indication that God wants his people to live in a different way as that of the world. The purpose of being holy is not a recommendation.
I have also learned that holiness attracts tranquility, security, and intimacy to God. When an individual leads a holy life, then his or her heart becomes receptive to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
In the book of Hebrews chapter twelve verse fourteen it is stated, follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall be seen of the Lord. I found this verse effective. It helped me to realize that I cannot become holy without making it a choice, that is, in case I really want to have a relationship with God.
To sum up, the beauty of holiness is observed in a pure heart, disciplined life and a strong love towards God. The holy life is not an easy one yet worth it. Holiness is more radiant than physical beauty is since it is an inward source and it results in a life of eternity. In my pursuit of my faith, I am led to seek holiness as I do because I believe that holiness is the source of beauty.
