Human life has a meaning, and it is one of the questions that human beings consider at one point or another. Life is a simple work, money and fun according to some individuals. However, I read the Bible and realized that God made human beings to serve another more important purpose.
Our life is not an accident. In Genesis 1: 27, the Bible says that God made man in His own image. This is a revelation that our life is worth living and we were created to portray the character and goodness of God.
Knowing God and being in a relationship with Him is one of the objectives of human life. The Bible states in Ecclesiastes 12: 13, Fear God, and keep his commandments: that is all the duty of man.
This verse informs us that our real responsibility is to worship God, and to obey his ways. As I consider this, I get to understand that when we live according to the commandments of God rather than just living by our wishes, life becomes more clear.
Helping and doing good to others is another meaning of our life. God did not make us create to live only ourselves. In Mathew 5:16, Jesus told, Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works, and may glorify your Father which is in heaven.
This makes me remember that I need to be acting in a way that shows the love of God. Kindness, patience, and compassion make us a light to the people around us when we are good.
The purpose of human life is also to prepare to the eternal life. Life on earth is temporal but the Bible teaches that we are going to have life after this world. John 17:3 says that, and this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Knowledge of God and being a follower of Christ makes our life have a permanent meaning.
Conclusively, we should know God, obey His commandments, do good to others, and prepare to live forever as the purpose of human life.
When I consider these facts, I believe that there is nothing empty or meaningless in life. Rather, it is a valuable gift that God provides to live with faith, love, and reason.
God bless his word
Amen
