When God brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, the house of bondage, he established a covenant with them the kind that will make Him to always dwell with them. He was living with them. He built his home among them. The Tabernacle was God's place of fellowship with the Israelites. He gave Moses the pattern for the building of the Tabernacle. Everything is the Tabernacle was made according to the specifications given by God. At that time, no one dare tampered with the this of consecration in the temple without incurring the wrath of God. It was because the sons of Aaron offered incense not according to the pattern that God gave them, that was why fire came out of the presence of God and consumed them.
Solomon the King, built a temple unto the Lord in Jerusalem. That temple replaced the Tabernacle. The ark of covenant was in the temple. It was in the temple that the children of Israel offered their sacrifices. They did their services unto God in the temple. It was there that they offered their sacrifices. They offered their peace offering. They offered the burnt offering. They offered their peace offering. And every other offering that God commanded them to offer.
These days, we do not need the temple in Jerusalem to go and make our sacrifices. We do not need to get to the temple before we can pray. Our hearts have become the temples where God dwells. This is why we should live in righteousness so that God can always be in our hearts. Our life must reflect holiness. God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Let us therefore present our bodies like God has told us to be living sacrifices. Let us live in righteousness so that we can be acceptable before God whenever we pray.
