In reference to the topic, 'MISTRANSLATIONS OF THE BIBLE, MARK 16:17-18.'
I understand that there are lots of misinterpretations in the bible and some words that were not the right words for translation.
But here is my contributions,
I believe the essence of our faith is to prove it in the face of challenges and not by tempting God.
The fact that God has power over all thing, including poisons is a proof that a Christian can actually take poisons and not be hurt. But the problem here is that an average Christian will read mark 16:17-18 and get excited to take or drink poison deliberately. This is the same as tempting God.
For example : Psalms 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
Psalms 91:12 They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
I cant decide to jump down from a roof because the God gave the promise that I shall not dash my foor against a stone. Of I do, that tempting God.
When the devil tempted Jesus quoting the same psalm 91:11-12, Jesus rebooked the devil and said, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God'
Therefore any voice that wants us to test the integrity of God's word by taking some deliberate harmful steps is the voice is the tempter.
That's my humble contribution
