Listening to the teachings of Brother Eli, it gives us believers a strong reminder that religion lies not with God but with men, which is the believers.
There is only one true Bible, and the Bible was preserved through history by manuscripts, which caused true noise of debate and of passion and translations. God was never confused, and his word was not given just that mere fragment, because the confessions of God just came later, which is their only treasure of pride.
What really captured me most is the emphasis on being obedient and having respect and reverence for God. Translating the Bible is not a creative exercise, it is just a responsibility. When you see authors translating and paraphrasing or omitting some important things in the Bible in order to alter the doctrine, this can be seen as causing the dangerous line of God.
Matthew 5:18 shows it clearly that not even a single word should be removed from the Bible. The standard should remain the same and no manipulation. We have to keep the word of God true as it is. So this teaching has challenged us to question ourselves. Are we seeking the word of God or seeking a version that agrees with others?
This modification of our mission is just a proof of re-enlightening others. We should not be stubborn when it comes to the aspect of the gospel. The gospel does not implement belief. It just needs to be spread among all believers in order to know the truth. And that is all.
