Under the earth is the habitation for demons and Angelic beings, according to 2 Peter 2:4

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment.

In Luke 8:31;

And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

We can confirm that the demons begged Jesus not to command them into the deep. So they came from the deep, which is under the earth.
