To contribute to the question: Why is there death if there is God? (Part 1 of 3).
Death is a necessary end for every mortal beings. It is a call that every mortal beings must answer whenever it comes. Every man must die someday, return to God and give account of his life while on earth.
According to Hebrews 9:27;
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
However, our God is an immortal being and can not die.
1 Timothy 6:16;
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting.
So death is necessary for a man to transit from this mortality to immortality and give account of how he spent his mortality.
