If there is one thing I was able to get from the Replay of the Prayer meeting on zoom yesterday, it was "BE DILIGENT".
Despite not being able to be part of the meeting till the end, from what I was able to learn and what the scripture says:
We shouldn't be slothful or lazy,
Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.
Romans 12:11 NLT
If we look at a different translation, we observe that not being lazy is directly proportional to being diligent,
not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
Romans 12:11 NKJV
Those who are lazy and slothful often think they are being wise and thus still expect result despite their lack of effort, but as we see from the Bible it just doesn't work that way,
The lazy person is wiser in his own eyes Than seven [sensible] men who can give a discreet answer.
Proverbs 26:16 AMP
,
Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.
Proverbs 10:4 NIV
The Bible has sternly warned us against being unproductive and also encouraged us to be diligent,
“But his Lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.
Matthew 25:26-29 NKJV,
Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise,
Proverbs 6:6 NKJV
Lastly,
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
II Peter 1:5-8, 10 NKJV
