Jonah did not want to go to Nineveh because he wanted the people there to be punished for their evil deeds.
But God saw hope in the people of Nineveh because they had no one to teach them the ways of God, and God chose Jonah for this task.
He hardened his heart and acted foolishly in trying to escape God.... But God put everything in place so that he could still accomplish his task and bring Ninivie into God's ways.
A great story and very instructive.
Have you also thought about the fact that God did not show this grace and mercy to Sodom and Gomorrah? That's because he saw no hope in them and so destroyed them.... With the exception of Lot's family.
I understand your message from the story of Jonah, but you fail to understand that you are telling me to treat the Canaanites the same way where God specifically forbids it. The question now is, should I listen to you or listen to what God is telling me regarding the Canaanites? And that's exactly what Yeshua did, because he turned away the Canaanite woman who asked him for help.
Why do you think he did that?
