If there is a particular question that I can say have lingered in my heart for so long, it is the fact that why do God wants evil to happen or probably does God want evil to happen. Most especially when I am passing through tough moments of my life.
Whenever I see the world suffering, people loss and generally evil happening in the world, I am always tempted to ask God about the fact that do he really want all of this to happen to us.
After my discovering, I have actually come to discover that God actually did not want that. God does not want evil things to happen. His very first nature is the one of love. 1 John 4:8 tells us plainly, "God is love." A God who is love cannot be the author of evil.
James 1:13 confirms this also for me "God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone." This actually means that evil is not part of God nature. He is a good God and he always do good.
But back to the question. If he is a good God, then why does it exist? Well the answer can be traced back to the garden of Eden. I think that is where everything started. God at the starting point gave humanity a genuine choice and that is the fact that we should love him.
But along the line, Adam and Eve choose wrongly and that singular act of sin opened the door for pain which everyone of us is suffering from today.
So evil entered the world not necessarily because God planned it or caused it. It is we the man that caused it and that is the consequences all of us are suffering from today.
