Most people did not know, but there is always something very powerful in choosing to do good to people. Of course not because people deserve it. In fact most of the time, people that we do good to, they don't deserve it. And not also because we should be thinking they will return the favour to us.
But it is because it is the right thing to do. Galatians 6:10 says, "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." Just like this bible verse have said, I personally feel that we are expected to do good to everyone around and not just people who are kind to us. Everyone irrespective of their culture, belief or gender.
If there is something I have come to discover that is affecting our present world, it is the fact that we have limit the doing good to be highly conditional. What do I mean by that? Most of the time, we always wait for the right person, we wait for the right moment and in fact we wait for the right mood.
But I have personally come to discover that as far as we see a need to attend to, we should not hesitate. Jesus himself went about doing good (Acts 10:38). Jesus is not selective when he is doing good to people.
Then let me touche this and that is the fact that doing good is actually an act of faith. What do I mean by that? Proverbs 19:17 says that whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord. What many of us did not know is the fact that any small act of goodness that we do, even though man might not see us, God actually see us.
Nothing is actually wasted. I personally have had time I helped people that nobody was seeing but deep within me, God will tell me that he is seeing me. That is one special kind of reward which can't come from men but from God himself.
