There are a whole lot of controversial topics that is been discussed in our society today and people trying to find the point of view of God on those subject matter. One of it is the aspect of donating of our body organs whether it is biblically allowed by God or not.
As a Christian, I have come to discover that our bodies are special gifts from God and how we make use of our body should be in reverence to God. Also as a Christian, we are called to show love to our brethren and when it comes to organ donations, I have come to discover that is one of the deepest ways a person can really give love even after life. It is those types of quiet sacrifices that can shape ones life around.
The Bible teaches us clearly about love and giving. In John 15:13, it says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. At this point, I believe donating of organ is a perfect reflection of that kind of love.
Even if it warrants not giving your whole life, for me I believe it is still part of giving ourselves to someone so that they can actually live and that is so powerful.
Also, in Acts 20:35, it says, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Organ donation follows this teaching in a very real way. The person receiving the organ gets another chance at life, while the giver becomes a blessing even beyond this world. I find that very touching.
I know that a whole lot of people are not really sured about it. Some have fear and misconception about it and some strange thoughts as whether it is the right thing to do or not. But as fro me, I believe anything that will allow us to show love to another should be worth doing irrespective of what the society thinks of.
