When it comes to the subject matter of war, of sufferings and generally starvation, it is actually very painful things to actually witness in our world today.
Most of the time, whenever I hear the news of people that are dying in wars or generally children crying because of hunger and families losing everything, my heart always feels heavy.
Sometimes I even ask myself. What can we actually do to stop all these things. For me and as a Christian, the believers have actually given us a guide for us in a time like this.
Now the big question is what do the bible teaches us about love. In John 13:34, Jesus said, “Love one another; as I have loved you. The question is that if people actually love each other, there will be less war. Whenever I hear about war among nations or even communities, it always comes from hate, from pride and generally selfishness.
But whenever love is in our hearts, it helps us to chose peace much more instead of fighting. For me, I believe if leaders of our countries can follow the command in the bible, many lives will actually be saved.
In fact, the bible tell us that we should help the needy. Starvation for me is a very big problem but thank God, he has shown us what to do about it. In Proverbs 22:9, it says, “He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
We should always share whatever we have. We might not have much, but I have come to discover that you don't necessarily need to have much before you help people that are in need. The little that you have, you can use it to offer for help and it will go a long way.
