God is the one protecting everyone that is living in the world today. He is the Creator so he watches over all His creations. Do you know what would have happened if God was not protecting us? There is protection for all the creatures of God. God always protects everything. Even the animals are covered by the protective hands of God. Both the righteous and the sinners are protected by God. The Bible says that God allows His rain to fall on the wicked and the righteous. There is no one who is not under God’s protection in this world. Anyone who would not be under God's protection would have been destroyed by the wicked one.
The protection of God does not guarantee that sinners can continue sinning. We should not turn the patience of God into weakness. God is not weak in judging the wicked. He is not weak in responding to the sinful works of the sinful ones. What He does is that He gives the sinners a long rope to see whether they will repent from their evil works. The long-suffering of God is not that He is slack in punishing the sinners. No God will still punish those who are committing sins. We should turn from everything that we know that God frowns at. We should serve God faithfully.
