The doctrines of the church should be obeyed completely. There is no variation with our God. God would not give us a doctrine which he did not consider important. That is why, as obedient children, we must always obey His commandments in full.
Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The doctrine of baptism is an important doctrine. Every member of the church must receive baptism. The Lord Jesus Christ said everyone who believes in him should be baptized. There is no allowance for us to argue whether we should be baptized or not. Baptism is a commandment of Jesus Christ and we must obey.
Matthew 3:15 (KJV) And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
Our Lord Jesus Christ showed us an example that we must follow. He did not need to be baptized because he was sunless. John the Baptist asked why he came to be baptized when we all needed to be baptized by himself. In reply, the Lord Jesus said that it is so for us to fulfill the commandments of God.
As christians, let us receive the doctrine of baptism. Every who believes and is baptized shall be saved. Receiving baptism is an important requirement for our salvation. We cannot please God by rejecting some of his commandments. Obedience to God must be complete.
