Today I want to discuss the biblical manner of burying the dead.
I do not know the way people of your race do to the dead bodies of their loved ones. But you see, since time immemorial, thousands of years ago, the Egyptians do not just put them in a coffin. They embalmed them to preserve them. And the proof is until now, we can find in Egypt these coffins with the body inside that coffin. And they do everything to preserve the body. They show respect and love for their dead relatives.
And christians do that also. They wrap the body with linen clothes and they put perfume. In the time of the Israelites in Egypt, they did the same thing.
So it happened to Joseph in the Bible. To show their respect and love for Joseph, they embalmed his body. Meaning putting perfume, spices and so on, then they put him in the coffin. Joseph is the patriarch of the Israelites.
When the Lord Jesus Christ died, they also wrapped the body and put Him in a grave near Jerusalem. Let us read that in John 19:39
That is what the Jews do to their dead. They embalm them, they wrap them in clothes, in linen, then they put them in a coffin, then they bury them in a grave. That is the practice of the Hebrews and the practice of the first christians.
That is the information on what they did for the body of the Lord Jesus Christ when he died. So, this is different among other cultures of the earth.
