What is meditation?
Meditation is not an action in the first place. It's just non-action. You can't say "I meditate", but "I am mediation." This word is often misunderstood.
But how do you get into non-action?
- First of all, learn to watch your mind and her thoughts carefully. Be the observer behind them.
- Once the observer has settled in, you will find that thoughts are what determine your emotions. Learn to pay close attention to your emotions. Who is the ONE WHO CAN SEE THEM?
Well, YOU ARE NOT YOUR MIND OR YOUR EMOTIONS, you are the one behind them!
How could that not be true? You are in control, but you forgot about yourself; you forgot who you really are. Take your time and listen carefully to the silence behind them. Take some time for this! Maybe even before he falls asleep. In that vacuum, in that silence, you will find yourself. There are all your resources, there is priceless peace and true love. This feeling of emptiness may scare you at first. You may feel like you're falling into an abyss. You're so used to identifying with your fake identity that it looks scary. But remember: it just seems! Once you step on this land, it will be difficult for you to let go.
