After the storm comes the calm! Or at least that's what they say, yesterday was a very rainy day, really for a moment I felt a bit scared, because of the large amount of water that was falling, in some houses in the area, the water wreaked havoc, thank God at home we are all fine, today the sun, although there is a forecast of rain, is really strong, but the beauty of the cacti is enhanced by the sun, so today I share these photographs of my coral cactus (Euphorbia Lactea), which as it receives more sun, turns a beautiful and striking purple color at the edges, and in addition to those small, but very forceful spikes, it begins to show those tiny leaves that are really beautiful.
It has been a while since I shared my babies with you, but I must say that I had a strong attack of ants, in some of my cactus, causing me to lose a few, however, as I said at the beginning of this post, after the storm, comes the calm, and thanks to some good care, and a little fumigation I managed to save the most valuable ones, because with luck, the ones that are easier to reproduce were damaged. This attack of ants has been given, due to the high temperatures that the heat has left us, and the most affected part of the cactus are the roots, where they usually keep their biggest water reserve, and when they damage the root, and we do not realize it, there is very little chance of survival.
One of the cactus that definitely is a war horse, is the nopal, and this little giant, I planted it from a small leaf of a big nopal that we had at home, and that fell a few years ago, this year has begun to give flowers and fruits in large quantities, these are tiny, because the plant is in a pot and because of its small space has not developed a large size, but I must say that I love the size of the flowers and fruits, when it was a giant in my garden I never managed to take a single photograph of its flowers and fruits, and is that they tend to come out at the tip of the highest leaves. Today I share with you these beauties that have managed to get ahead even with adversity.

¡Después de la tormenta, llega la calma! O al menos eso dicen, ayer fue un día de mucha lluvia, realmente por un momento sentí algo de miedo, por la gran cantidad de agua que estuvo cayendo, en algunas casas de la zona, el agua hizo estragos, gracias a Dios en casa todos estamos bien, hoy el sol, aunque hay pronóstico de lluvia, está realmente fuerte, pero la belleza de los cactus se enaltece con el sol, así que hoy les comparto estas fotografías de mi cactus de coral (Euphorbia Lactea), que a medida que recibe más sol, se va tornando de un hermoso y llamativo color púrpura en los bordes, y además de esas pequeñas, pero muy contundentes púas, comienza a mostrar esas diminutas hojitas que son realmente hermosas.
Hace tiempo que no comparto mis bebes con ustedes, pero debo decir que tuve un ataque fuerte de hormigas, en algunos de mis cactus, haciendo que perdiera unos cuantos, sin embargo, como lo dije al comienzo de este post, después de la tormenta, llega la calma, y gracias a unos buenos cuidados, y unas cuantas fumigaciones logre salvar los más valiosos, pues con suerte, se dañaron los que son más fáciles de reproducir. Este ataque de hormigas se ha dado, debido a las altas temperaturas que el calor nos ha dejado, y la parte más afectada de los cactus son las raíces, donde por lo general guardan su mayor reserva de agua, y cuando nos dañan la raíz, y no nos percatamos de ello, es muy poca la probabilidad de sobrevivir.
Uno de los cactus que definitivamente es un caballito de guerra, es el nopal, y es que esté pequeño gigante, lo plante de una pequeña hoja de un gran nopal que teníamos en casa, y que se cayó hace unos años, este año ha comenzado a dar flores y frutos en grandes cantidades, estas son realmente pequeñas, pues la planta está en una maceta y por su poco espacio no ha desarrollado un gran tamaño, pero debo decir que me encanta el tamaño de las flores y frutos, cuando era un gigante en mi jardín nunca logre tomar una sola fotografía de sus flores y frutos, y es que tienden a salir en la punta de las hojas más altas. Hoy les comparto estas hermosuras que han logrado salir adelante aún con la adversidad.
