Greetings friends of the succulent growers community. I have obtained some cacti and succulents through a friend. I have always thought that what for one person can be a disaster for another can be a fortune.
What happens is that my friend who has given me these species that I show you today has suffered several mishaps due to a very tremendous puppy dog, a child at last. He has knocked over the cactus I had on a table and has destroyed them several times. I was about to visit my friend who was going to give me some of her little cactus children.
I had not been able to visit her because I was going through several health episodes that did not allow me to leave my house. As everything has its time, my friend called me to pick them up and I was in good health at the time so I went.
She gave me these cacti and succulents which are beautiful and I did not have them in my collection.
The Melocactus Intortus:
Popularly called mountain melon, I don't know why it has this popular name, it must be because it is full of liquid. What I do know is that I have wanted to have this cactus for many years. My mother had it at home many years ago and I longed to have it also until they have given it to me as a gift. It is small but it will grow little by little to a size similar to the common melon.
Huernia Verekeri:
A hybrid, huernias are a genus of succulent plants from a broad group of plants. star-shaped flower with 5 tips. It can be seen as an eye in the center of it.
Kalanchoe Rhombopilosa:
It is beautiful, its leaf resembles a fish fin, and from there emerges its popular name. Leaves are triangle-shaped and gray with dark splashes.
Kalanchoe Millotii:
It is beautiful and its popular name is a silver spoon. The color is gray and it has a plush texture.
Aloe arborescens:
This species of aloe does not look like Juvenna or aloe to me, the leaves are thinner and more tortuous. I have one small plant and one larger plant. Both retain their style of form.
Orbea Dummeri:
Olso called Angolluma dummmeri, is native to Africa but is widely distributed around the world in tropical countries for its beautiful flowers.
Echinopsis Chamaecereus:
Or peanut cactus, the son emerge from its side taking cylindrical and wide shape. I like their shape and they look like little worms hanging from a basket.
A long time ago I had Microdasys opuntias which have been constantly attacked by pests and I almost lost them completely. Now I have reddish and white ones. I will try to keep the pests away from my cactus as much as possible this time.
For now, I show you only these and in another opportunity, I will bring you more species as I find their names.
I hope you liked them, I hope to read your comments. Thank you.
