My sister was visiting me at home and brought me some nice specimens of cacti and succulents. I know the names of some of them but I'm trying to find out the names of others to show them here. For now, I have these and I love them.
Sedum Hispanicum:
This is a small-sized succulent that is used ornamentally to make arrangements in pots and on rocky ground. It is dense growing and creeping.
It is native to Europe, it does not reach great heights and usually does not exceed 15 cm in height. It likes the sun and tolerates it but only for a few hours. The leaves are fleshy, and bluish-green if exposed to the sun, it changes color in the shade.
Kalanchoe crenata:
Kalanchoe Crenata is used in indoor ornamental spaces or gardens. They are easy to maintain and are easily propagated by cuttings.
It receives direct sunlight for a few hours, the leaves are slightly fleshy and with wavy edges. Its leaves are very similar to those of kalanchoe Blosfeldiana.
Euphorbia Trigona:
It is known as the African milk tree because of the production of latex in its stems or leaves when detached from the plant. It is also called cathedral cactus although it is not a true cactus but rather a Euphorbia. It is of African origin.
They have spines on their edges called spicules. It reaches a height of approximately 3 meters, but it is said that in pots it grows in smaller proportions. Sometimes it produces leaves or they are scarcely visible on its stem. When the climate is favorable it can have more leaves as in this case.
Sedum Clavatum:
It is a succulent native to Mexico. It grows in the form of rosettes very grouped and its color depends on exposure to the sun or not. Being the leaves of a pink tone when exposed to the sun and of greenish tone when being in shade.
It is a succulent plant that resists dry soils because of its thick leaf shape and the stem where they collect vital liquid.
To increase the reddish color of the leaves, the plant should be stressed by letting the plant spend a few days more than usual without water in the substrate.
Kalanchoe laxiflora:
This plant propagates very easily, it can support the not-very-intense sun rays but it also grows in the shade, which is why the tone of its leaves changes from light green with reddish edges to bluish green when it is placed in the shade.
This plant is a succulent native to Africa. It multiplies by leaves and stems. And its care requirements are very low so any gardening beginner could do very well with this plant.
Aeollanthus Parvifolius Benth:
It is a succulent plant that is very fast-growing. It tends to grow in all environments, sun or shade, and modify its color according to sun exposure or not.
If it is exposed to the sun it tends to have its leaves closer to each other. Its leaves are long and with very small hairs on the entire surface.
It is seen hanging in baskets to take advantage of this tendency to droop. It is very easy to handle and propagate.
I hope you liked my little acquisitions. I still have several but their names are not known to me. I will leave for another publication.
