Today I woke up watching this beautiful flower, it is a graft that I made a few months ago and has begun to give flowers, although at the moment it only has a large flower, the thing is that I have the graft inside the greenhouse, and when I took out the pot to observe it better the misfortune happened.
I was about to take the pictures but I had to go out to deliver some pots that I had sold, by the time I returned home the flower was almost closed, I am not worried because I know that this flower opens for at least three days, but in the next picture we can see the flower buds that will open in a couple of weeks.
Now the bad thing that happened was with this graft, remember that the Astrophytum was a gift from my friend Fernando, but for something that I don't know the scion grew sideways and the rootstock looked like dehydrated, I was thinking for a few days to re-graft the cactus but I didn't have time or courage, of course I'm worried about making a mistake and end up killing the scion.
When I was taking out the cactus pot to see the flower I mistakenly touched the Astrophytum causing it to fall to the ground.
It is as if instead of growing upwards, it grew downwards reconstructing the part that had been removed in order to make the graft.
So let's get to work, time to graft again.
For the moment I put the graft inside the greenhouse to take advantage of the heat, although I made sure to cover it to avoid the sun while the grafting is successfully done.
Now let's see some grafts to update us and see if there is growth as in this little peyote, I do see it growing.
The Astrophytum seed cultivar that I got from Thailand is already growing wool.
Look at this Astrophytum Super Kabuto, every time I see it I imagine it is a person with a mustache and glasses watching me.
Another of my passions, Ariocarpus Retusus Las Tablas, is already looking almost full grown.
Obregonia Dennegrii, I was giving water because the mix was already dry.
The grafts I made the day I got sick, now I need to put them in a pot so that the rootstock can grow roots.
The Myrtyllocactus army keeps growing.
This is not a graft, but I like how it looks in that little cement pot, which by the way the pot was made by me.
Astrophytum without chlorophyll a real challenge, it is easy to kill the scion by excess of humidity, sun, heat, but it is a nice challenge.
I think the next graft is a rebutia that is turning into a mostrosa with all those shoots coming out all over the place.
Finally this beauty that I promised to to keep you updated on its growth, I see it as a Myriostigma but we can see that it is growing a small shoot on one side, it still needs to grow more to be sure of what we have in front of our eyes, for the moment I can only admire it every day and imagine what it is, because it definitely must be a Myriostigma cultivar because it looks different from the original plant.
That's all for the moment, see you in the next post where I will show you my next transplants, I need to take seedlings out of the seedbeds and put them in growing trays, see you.
