Hi dungeon crawlers….
This week the Dungeon Cities Companion got another expansion. The game itself focuses a lot on a mobile experience which is great because you can play everywhere. But the gamer in me sometimes prefers a full desktop setup where you simply have more information on the screen and a better overview of what is going on.
The developers are busy building new features and expanding the game. Because of that I try to help the community a little by creating alternative ways to view the same data. The companion does not change anything in the game itself. It simply presents the data in another way that can sometimes make things easier.
Quick Disclaimer
I build this in my spare time as a hobby project. I try to be as open and careful as possible with everything I release.
If you do not trust the app you can always check the code or simply not use it. That is completely fine.
If you run into bugs or mistakes please let me know so I can try to fix them. Like with everything there can always be errors.
I especially want to mention this now because you can also spend your in-game Drubble through the site.

A New Way To Scan The Market
I created an alternative way to browse the Dungeon Cities market and buy items directly.
You can find it here:
https://dungeoncities-next.vercel.app/market
You need to be logged in to access the market.
Just like the normal game market it will not load if you are currently inside a dungeon. The actual game also blocks market access in certain areas so the companion follows the same rule.
Once you are logged in you can search for specific items.
What you will see on the screen:
- Items - The items being sold
- Seller - Who is selling the item
- DR Balance - Your current Drubble balance
- Sorting - Default sorted on price
The default sorting is price based instead of newest listings. Personally this is something I always missed in the normal market.
Buying Directly From The Companion Site
You can also buy items directly from the table.
Just click a row and confirm the purchase.
Currently your DR balance only updates after refreshing the page. I might improve that later.
Grouped View For Easier Comparison
There is also a group button which groups identical items together so you can quickly see which listing is the cheapest.
This makes it much easier to scan the market when there are many listings.
Subcategory Filters
You can also filter items by subcategory.
For example if you only want to see food you can filter directly in the interface.
This helps a lot when you are hunting specific upgrades.
Extra Tips
When you are scrolling down it will load more items then the default 50
Also not the for the current loaded items list you can do some front-end filtering as well
Also your own items will be display can cannot be bought of course
Forge To Market Shortcut
One feature I personally really like is the direct connection between the forge and the market.
When you are looking at the forge and notice you are missing an item you can jump directly to the market and search for it.
What Could Come Next
So that is the newest addition to the companion app.
What comes next… I am not completely sure yet but I do have some ideas.
One idea is an auto sell feature that removes a lot of repetitive clicking in the shop. Using Keychain on mobile can be quite annoying because of the menu bar at the bottom. A simple one click action would make selling items much smoother.
Another idea is an auto dungeon crawler that performs simple floor sweeps automatically so you do not have to click through every fight and reward manually. This could save quite a bit of time.
But this one might be a bit controversial since fighting monsters is basically the core of the game. I definitely do not want to turn it into a bot.
Your Feedback
Let me know what you think about the current usefulness of the companion app.
What features are badly needed that the developers simply do not have time for right now.
And what do you think about the ideas for the next step.
Let me know in the comments.
