Here's my 65th Splinterlands Guild Brawl Report for PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish. 🍕⚔️🛡️
It seems that I'm still lagging behind with my Brawl reports. I'm just going to blame it on the festive season and all 🤣. Christmas is a major event with nonstop partying after all, especially when there're so many parties at the houses of different friends 😱. That being said, I'm only 1 report behind, so it's not as bad as when I was on my holidays earlier on. 😜
It's the ✨🏅✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion Fray no.12✨🏅✨ for the 48th week in a row for me.

1 single win (and nothing else) from my previous brawl AGAIN! The exact same scenario as my previous brawl! This meant I climbed up slight past the 60% win percentage mark! 🎉 Lets hope I continue pushing this percentage higher?
I still haven't have enough MERITS for any Gladius packs. Guess I'll have to continue saving for them.

As usual, I make an extra effort to rent ✨Gold Foil Chaos Legion✨ cards that align with my daily focus during Guild Brawl days.
Hopefully Lady Luck continues to shine on me 🍀🍀🍀 and I don't get too many weird ruleset combinations which will completely screw up my limited Gold Foil selection of cards. (🤣 yeah, that's how terrible I am, to have to rely on luck for my wins)
Some thoughts I have about my exploits in the Gold Frays. 💭🤔
I feel like I'm winning because my opponent has even less Gold Foil cards available to him than I do. Personally, I find it slightly flattering to me. The teams I field are definitely not the absolute strongest, but more of what is available to me.
It also doesn't account for HOW I win some of the fights though. I've realised that a fair number of them are from opponents who just gave up and did not even face me in battle. ⚔️⚔️⚔️
My choice of picking up the Gold Foil frays is to simply give the Guild a better chance at accumulating more wins, seeing especially that IN THE PAST, many Gold Frays were left empty. Even if I were to lose everything and win just 1 match, it would definitely help in securing a better finishing position overall. 🥇🥈🥉
With all that said, lets FINALLY get down to a review and quick analysis of my battles 🧐⚔️🛡️, or in some cases where my opponent fled 🏃🏻💨 - non battles 😨.

On hindsight, I probably shouldn't have gone with the FIRE splinter when WATER was available. I was at a huge disadvantage when I faced the Armour that Kelya brings to the table. As expected, my units were stopped in their tracks just by having to chip off that 1 extra armour every single round. 😭

The Cursed Windeku proved to be the difference here. I was also lacking some cards for the Gold Foil Death splinter. Had I managed to field just 1 more unit in the backline to take that hit from the opponent's SNEAK attack, the outcome would have been completely different. 😭
WON.
This was a most convincing victory for me. The star of the show was undoubtedly Chimney Wallstop. His devastating attack with the REACH ability in the 2nd slot destroyed everything in his path. What's more, each time that happened activated his BLOODLUST resulting in a rampaging monster who landed the killing blow on all but one of the opponent's units! 😱

This was a really straightforward victory. My purely physical team overcame the opponent's magic based lineup even though I got no advantages at all from using Obsidian as the chosen Summoner. My Bertrol Gobson even chalked up 3 BLOODLUST activations, although that was just icing on the cake. The battle was never in doubt even if he wasn't around.

2 WINS, 2 LOSSES.
There's no more repeat of the previous 2 brawls where it was a "100% win rates" with just 1 game victories. However, my win-loss ratio should still be pretty much unaffected with an even number of wins and losses.
I feel it's important that Guilds are able to fill out all the frays - even the significantly "harder" Gold ones. It is very likely that most guilds (at our level) skip the Gold frays completely, or are unable to even field a team if they've got no Gold Foil Summoners. This therefore leads to a better overall score.

Yikes. This was a pretty bad performance from us this time round. I guess the law of averages finally kicked in after a few 1st/2nd place finishes over the past few weeks. I'm sure we will bounce back from this dip though.
On a sidenote, we've still got some unfilled frays too so...
