SPS Brawl Rewards
It's been a while since My last Brawl Report with Guild activities keeping me pretty busy lately. If you'd like to see what our Guild has been up to please have a look at the THGaming Hive Community, where our most important Posts are pinned at the top.
I'm sure most of you already know that finally has made Guild brawls truly profitable and Guild brawlers now win Staked $SPS Tokens for brawl participation. The amount of $SPS you earn is dependent on your Guild Tier, Guild Participation (how many Freys are filled) and how well you finish in the brawl each week.
Another important update is that Riftwatchers Cards have been added to Brawl Card assignments, details about which you can read here : @Splinterlands - 'Brawl Frays Riftwatchers Update'
THGaming Guild Performances
Surprisingly THGaming2 emerged as the victors in this week's brawl, ahead of THGaming1 and THGaming Brawlers. THGaming 2 Guild has also overtaken THGaming 1 in the league standings, showing that the players within 'THG2' are dedicated gamers!
THGAMING Guild Brawl Finishes and Rewards
š THGaming Brawlers (5th place) TIER 2 BRAWLS - Won spoils of 31 Crowns in the latest brawl! Also, each fully participating member was awarded 1,744 Merits and 16.762 staked SPS.
š THGaming 1 (3rd place) TIER 1 BRAWLS - Won spoils of 12 Crowns in the latest brawl! Also, each fully participating member was awarded 646 Merits and 13.627 staked SPS.
š THGaming 2 (1st place) TIER 1 BRAWLS - Won spoils of 15 Crowns in the latest brawl! Also, each fully participating member was awarded 692 Merits and 9.873 staked SPS.
As you can see, your Brawl Tier and the number of Freys filled determines how many Merits and $SPS are earned in each brawl. Participation (how many Freys are filled) is often more important than how well you do, as THGaming 1 Guild came 3rd but earned more SPS than THGaming 2 (1st).
We currently have spaces free in ALL of our Guilds so feel free to request to join any of them. If you'd like priority access let me know in the comments and we'll see which of our Guilds best suits your playing style.
My Two Gold Brawl Wins
Most readers don't have time to go through overly detailed posts, so I will try to summarize my Winning battles into bite sized chunks. I was able to win both of my Brawl battles on my main deck , so let's take a look at them below.
Deets : I played BRAWL FREY 11 (Bronze Level GOLD CARDS, all Series allowed). I currently own 82 Gold Cards including 4 Summoners (Water, Earth, Fire, Death), however I rent a number of Cards for Gold Brawls, including LIFE and DRAGON Summoners. The Gold card rentals also add to my Card Power and allow me to be more competitive when playing Wild or Modern league matches.
Jim-Crypto - Brawl Battle 1
14 Mana - RULESET : Equalizer, Holy Protection
Quora Towershead is a truly remarkable Gladius card and the player I was up against is super lucky to own a Gold Version of her! I think in this battle my opponent might have misread the Battle Rules as the 'Equalizer' Ruleset means that all cards would receive the same Health as the highest card.
In this 14 mana battle it made sense to choose a few Lower Mana Cards, especially ones that are able to attack from a distance. Maybe my opponent thought Quora would be able to take out my front Card and trigger her insane Bloodlust ability (which would have made her unbeatable in my opinion). Unfortunately for the player I was up against I was able to take Quora down in 2 rounds, before she was able to destroy my front card.
Jim-Crypto - Brawl Battle 2
25 Mana - RULESET : Little League
Here my opponent went for Death, which was not the right choice in this case. Death does not often do well against the Fire splinter as Death is really good at 'nerfing' magic attacks (Earth) and stopping strong healers (Life), but not particularly good against a powerful Melee attack!
When 'Little League' Ruleset is applied, I often go with the Fire splinter as I own quite a few low Mana Goldfoil melee cards that can attack from a distance. Using the Summoner Tarsa again gave all of my Melee cards +1 Damage, and I was able to win this battle without losing a single Monster in my lineup.
In both of my Brawl battles I chose ORELLA ABADON - a 2 mana Fire Splinter Gladius card with 2 Melee Damage, as well as the Abilities : Sneak and Bloodlust.
My Favourite Gladius Card...Yes it's Common!
Right now I personally play in 3 different THGaming Splinterlands Guilds 'THGaming Brawlers', 'THGaming 1' and 'THGaming 2'. In two of these Guilds I play Gold Foil Brawl Freys by delegating over my full Gold Deck every single Brawl to my 2nd account in THGaming Brawlers.
For this reason I don't get to use many of my Gladius Cards, except for the Gold ones I've pulled, however my alt account still plays regular (non Goldfoil) Brawls. One Card I've come to absolutely LOVE when playing in these brawls is the Common Card Witch of Warwick.
Why The Witch of Warwick is such a great card
- As a Common Card, there is a good chance that Brawl Players will pull her in their Gladius packs. So she is very accessible and relatively easy to level up.
- Bloodlust AND Life Leech ABILITIES means she increases her own health while doing more and more damage. As soon as Bloodlust triggers it becomes quite hard to lose with her on your team.
- 2 Magic Damage at level 1 with a relatively low mana cost (5) considering her insane abilities.
- In Brawls, Guilds can 'BANISH' certain Monster cards or Summoners from being used, but Death splinter Summoners and The Witch are usually overlooked.
- My Dragon-Witch Brawl strategy - When you pair Witch of Warwick with the Dragon Summoner Delwyn Dragonscale she becomes even more powerful, as this will give her 1 extra magic damage. Even if the opposition nerfs (reduces) magic (as you'll see in the battle below) she will still do enough damage to turn the opposition into mince pies.
>> @doomz Witch of Warwick Featured Battle << - I was able to win the battle (above) quite convincingly. The Witch did a ton of damage and seriously helped in the victory, although my opposition didn't do themselves any favours with two of their cards doing NO DAMAGE throughout the battle. I think their plan was to destroy me from the back using SNEAK, but my Magic attack managed to eat through their front two cards very quickly.
By Round 7 it was all over and The Witch ended up with 6 Magic Damage and 26 Health. The Bloodlust + Life Leech Abilities are incredibly powerful when used by the same card. While won 4 battles and lost 4 battles (perhaps not the greatest result) every battle I used with Witch of Warwick resulted in a victory.
I hope you enjoyed this Brawl Report. Let me know in the comments which your favourite Gladius Card is and I'll be sure to upvote and tip the best comments.
