Hello world and fellow Hivers
Review of the card
Today's highlighted card is Regal Peryton and this is a pretty interesting card that everyone has because it belongs to the basic set that everyone has when they buy the Spellbook. The card has pretty solid stats even from level 1 and you could easily play it at this level in lower leagues but it gains a real advantage at level 3 when it gains extra attack damage. The next real major upgrade is at level 7 with an extra Speed and at level 8 with extra attack damage.
The Battle
Ruleset
- Back to Basics: Monsters lose all abilities.
- Holy Protection: All monsters have the divine shield ability.
- Also, I have 19 Mana available and I can't play only the Dragon & Water Class.
Summoner Selection
The summoner that I chose for this battle is Obsidian and the reason for that is the ruleset Back to Basics. I would like to explain it a little bit more and from the beginning, I would like to clarify that this summoner is pretty OP in many situations but especially when you face this ruleset. The reason is obviously that in a fight with a low mana cap and when all monsters don't have any abilities, the only thing that matters is who has the highest damage output.
Teams' Formation
The first card that I used in my formation was Mycelic Morphoid and the reason that I chose this card was that I wanted to delay my opponent's offense and to grant the necessary time to our damage dealers to eliminate his defense. To be honest I recommend playing this card at level 3 and higher because it gets the Thorns ability and this adds a tremendous value to this 1-cost card.
The fourth card that earned a place on our formation was the card, Khmer Princess. Well, our formation needed more Magic attack damage dealers to perform a combo with our summoner. So this card is a perfect fit for our team because it is a low-cost monster that could do serious damage to our opponent's frontline.
As as I said earlier the last place of my formation was filled by a range attack monster and more specifically by the card Acid Shooter. So the reason that this card played a pretty significant role in this matchup was because of this card's Speed. As you would see in the battle, this card has the second-highest Speed after the card Regal Peryton that my opponent and I used. That means that this card did damage earlier than my opponent's rest formation could do and so I managed to get the W in this matchup.
