Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or about my playing experience.
in this post, I will explain monsters that can attack 4 times in 1 round, what abilities are used to attack 4 times, and whether these monsters can be used in all rulesets or only certain rulesets.
Monsters that can Attack Four Times
Such monsters certainly need abilities that can attack 4 times, but unfortunately in #splinterlands that ability does not yet exist (or is unlikely to exist). So far there is only the DOUBLE-STRIKE ability that allows monsters to attack twice.
How can one monster attack four times?
The answer is definitely using Dual-Attack type monsters. But not many Dual-Attack-type monsters have the DOUBLE-STRIKE ability. So far, there are only 2 monsters, namely The Vigilator (from Untamed Edition) and Drybone Raider (from Soulbound Reward Card Edition).
If you look closely, they both have some similarities. Both Legendary Cards and the type and number of Attack points of each Attack Type have the same amount. They have also been equipped with the DOUBLE-STRIKE ability since level 1.
The Vigilator has a Mana of 9 so he is still safe from GIANT KILLER abilities, but he is in danger when he gets 1 attack from Melee or Ranged monsters that have large Attack points due to the absence of ARMOR (needs support from monsters that have PROTECT abilities or are in the ARMORED UP Ruleset).
Meanwhile, Drybone Raider who has 12 Mana will be in danger when meeting opponents who use monsters with the GIANT KILLER ability. However, Drybone Raider can still be a little relieved when he gets 1 attack from Melee or Ranged monsters that have large Attack points because he still has 3 ARMOR.
Can it be used in all Rulesets?
Of course, the answer is no. All monsters have a ruleset where they can and cannot be used (these 2 monsters are no exception). The amount of Mana available in each battle is also different so we can't always use these 2 monsters (better to use in battles with Mana Amount above 30).
These 2 monsters (The Vigilator and Drybone Raider) can actually be used in any position, but unfortunately, they have to give up one of their Attack Types (aka they can only attack twice). If placed in the first position, their Range Attack cannot be used. And if placed in a position other than the first position, their Melee Attack cannot be used.
The ruleset that can be utilized so that these 2 monsters (The Vigilator and Drybone Raider) can attack 4 times each round is...
MELEE MAYHEM, EQUAL OPPORTUNITY, and SUPER SNEAK. This ruleset allows the use of the Melee Attack even if it is not in the first position.
While in the CLOSE RANGE Ruleset, we can use their Range Attack despite being in the first position (TANK).
Apart from utilizing the Ruleset, we can also utilize the abilities given by Summoner below.
Possibilus the Wise grants one ability (REACH) to all monsters. This ability allows Melee monsters to use their attacks even if they are in a position behind TANK (second position). Meanwhile, Fernheart grants the Close Range Ability to all monsters, which works the same way as the CLOSE RANGE Ruleset.
Below is one of the battles of one of the Dual Attack Type monsters. In this battle, it can attack 4 times utilizing one of the Rulesets above.
BATTLE
The Dual Attack type monster I'm referring to this time is Drybone Raider. And the Ruleset I utilized in order to make it attack 4 times was EQUAL OPPORTUNITY. Meanwhile, the other Rulesets in this battle were BRIAR PATCH and STAMPEDE.
Despite being in the BRIAR PATCH Ruleset, I still want to use Drybone Raider because he is assisted by Venari Marksrat which will give him additional Attack points when this monster is defeated. He is also assisted by River Hellondale which gives him 1 additional Melee Attack point (INSPIRE) and RESURRECT which revives Venari Marksrat so that he will get additional Attack points once again.
Another reason I used Drybone Raider was that the opponent had used Summoner Immortalis in the previous 5 battles. And because of the BRIAR PATCH Ruleset, the opponent probably thought I would be more inclined to use Ranged or Magic monsters (hence why he chose Immortalis for this battle).
Venari Marksrat was defeated by Regal Peryton. However, it benefited me by adding 1 point to all STATS of Djinn Oshannus and Drybone Raider. Venari Marksrat was also revived by River Hellondale.
After gaining additional STATS, Drybone Raider defeated Mycelic Slipspawn (despite taking the effects of the BRIAR PATCH Ruleset). Then Venari Marksrat was defeated again, this time by attacks from Queen Mycelia, Uloth Dhampir, and Goblin Psychic. Of course, Djinn Oshannus and Drybone Raider gained another 1 point in all of their STATS.
In the second round and with the addition of STATS, Drybone raider managed to defeat 2 opponent monsters (Queen Mycelia and Goblin Psychic). This also made the debuff that Goblin Psychic had previously given to all my Magic monsters disappear, so now Djinn Oshannus has 4 Attack points.
Since the opponent has lost some core monsters and the debuffs for my Magic monsters are gone, it makes it easier for me to defeat the opponent's remaining monsters.
