ENGLISH VERSION
Caracas is a green city where many Venezuelans tend to have many plants in their homes, whether ornamental or for consumption.
Thus, one of the favorite places to be in contact with nature is the great sultan, the great protector of Caracas, the Ávila mountain, which protects the city from Caribbean storms and serves as a natural barrier that can hinder invasion from the north.
There are several entrances to Avila at different points in the city, but one of the most popular and well-known is the SABAS NIEVES entrance, a favorite spot for Caracas residents to breathe fresh air and climb the mountain for some exercise. Upon entering, there is a path to the left and another to the right, which is our destination. On this path, you can see a small stream. If you cross the small bridge, there is another way to reach Sabas Nieves on the right side.
Upon entering, on the left side of the first section of the path, you can see very large trees, and from them hang vines of climbing plants that are so thick and resistant that they allow children and adults to take beautiful photos hanging from them and thus have fun for a while swinging on those vines.
Continuing upwards in the middle section, there is a dirt floor and in that area are the very colorful birds called querre querre, which are very feisty and it is very entertaining to feed them with grains and see their expression and interaction with each other.
The highlight is that I hadn't been on the trail for almost two years, and after a lot of rain and storms, the final stretch before reaching our destination was more difficult than I remembered, with more exposed rocks and a steeper path, making the trail quite a challenge and not suitable for anyone who doesn't want to walk and make an effort.
After so much effort and overcoming obstacles, we reached our goal: a small oasis very close to Caracas, where we could swim in the waters and spend a unique day. Pictured here is my daughter, who hadn't taken her to this place.
This site is called QUINTERO ravine
This creek is a popular recreational spot for swimming, although the waters are very cold, making it impossible to swim with cold water from the refrigerator. It also has a rock that many children use as a slide.

VERSION EN ESPAÑOL
La ciudad de caracas es una ciudad verde donde muchos venezolanos acostumbran tener en sus casas muchas plantas ya sea ornamentales o para consumo.
Es así que uno de los sitios preferidos para estar en contacto con la naturaleza es el gran sultán el gran protector de caracas, la montaña del Ávila que protege a la ciudad de tormentas del caribe, y es una barrera natural que puede dificultar la invasión por el norte.
En el avila hay varias entradas en distintos puntos de la ciudad pero una de las entradas mas populares y conocidas es la denominada entrada de SABAS NIEVES, sitio preferido por los caraqueños para ir a respirar aire puro y subir la montaña para hacer algo de ejercicio. Al entrar hay un camino hacia la izquierda y otro hacia la derecha que es nuestro objetivo. En ese camino se puede ver un pequeño riachuelo en donde si se pasa ese pequeño puente es otra via para ir a sabas nieves del lado derecho.
Al entrar al lado izquierdo en el primer tramo del camino se ven arboles muy grandes y de alli caen lianas de plantas trepadoras que son tan gruesas y resistentes que permiten a los niños y adultos, poder sacar unas bellas fotos colgados de ellas y asi divertirse un rato columpiándose en esas lianas.
Al seguir subiendo en el tramo medio, esta el piso de tierra y por esa zona esta las aves muy vistosas denominadas querre querre, que son muy pelionas y es muy entretenido alimentarlas con granos y ver su forma de expresión e interacción entre ellas.
Lo mas destacado es que tenia casi dos años sin ir y después de muchas lluvias y tormentas el tramo final antes de llegar a nuestro destino estaba mas dificil de lo que recordaba, con rocas mas expuestas y el camino mas empinado por lo que el camino es todo un reto y no apto para cualquiera que no quiera caminar y esforzarse.
Despues de tanto esfuerso y sortear los obtaculos llegamos a nuestro objetivo, un pequeño oasis muy cercano a la ciudad de caracas, en donde poder bañarse en las aguas y pasar un dia diferente. Aqui en la foto mi hija quien no la habia llevado a este lugar.
Este sitio se llama quebrada QUINTERO
Esta quebrada es muy visitada, sitio de esparcimiento donde ir a bañarse aunque son aguas muy frías caso como bañarse con agua fría de la nevera, ademas que tiene una roca que muchos niños usan como tobogán.
