It's been a while since my friends and I have had some fun. We have been meaning to do something exciting for a while now and the perfect opportunity came when gave me a sum of $500 for a two days trip and said I could bring two friends with me.
Of course they were excited when I told them the news. and
couldn't be happier. It didn't take long for us to decide on the best place to visit outside our country.
After planning the trip for a week and getting the necessary things we'll need for our trip. The weekend came and we were ready to head to South Africa for one of the most exciting travels we've had in a long time.
Why South Africa you may ask. First, we are Africans and South Africa feels like a home we should have visited a long time ago. Secondly we love nature and we will get to experience that and more in South Africa. That and many more was the reason South Africa felt like the perfect location for our little vacation.
It didn't take long for us to get to South Africa and get settled. We decided to lodge in a relatively price friendly yet magnificent hotel because we wanted to make the most of our trip. So we settled for President Hotel in Cape Town.
We were going to get a guide to show us around but then suggested we explore on our own, discover places by ourselves and enjoy everything that comes with it. Which seemed like a great idea and we settled on that. We all went to bed and decided we'll explore the next day.
Morning came and we were all too excited to eat breakfast, why wait when nature is calling right. So we decided to visit the wildlife first. You can't blame us; wildlife is what Africa is famous for, so why not enjoy what we're blessed with.
Although we have lived most of our lives in the city surrounded by big buildings and expensive infrastructures. It's not news that most Africans are not exposed to wildlife (especially my friends and I) and we most certainly have never seen huts in our lives.
Anyhoo KRUGER NATIONAL PARK was the first place we went to. I was beyond amazed. Who knew wildlife could be this beautiful, I mean we see it on TV but no one said it's breathtaking in real life. I may just decide not to go back. Hehehe, just kidding, I won't last a month here.
The lions were intimidating, like sir calm down. I'm not trying to take your "king of the jungle" position away from you, you can ease up a bit. Who knew Tigers had better roars, I sure as hell didn't know. I wonder why they aren't the king of the jungle.
After a while of basking in wildlife was mostly disturbing me by the way. That girl likes pictures and
was busy doing what he knows best, taking notes to share his experience later. I mean can y'all just enjoy the moment please.
We decided to go have brunch, like I said in my previous post, is a foodie and
is not any better. We went to a nearby restaurant and had breakfast. We ordered local dishes and boy did they amaze us. I am a picky eater but I absolutely loved the food, it was worth every dollar I spent on it.
After brunch, we explored for a while, took pictures and decided to go visit CAPE WINELAND. The day is not over unless we've had a good bottle of wine and Cape wineland is perfect for that.
The interesting thing is that Cape Wineland is surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Imagine sipping wine and enjoying the most beautiful view ever. It felt like we were in paradise. Trust Megpeters to take pictures and Nonso to describe the view in the most captivating way ever - he has a way with words.
We decided to call it a night after Cape Wineland. We called a cab, which took us back to our hotel, we had dinner and went to bed. The next day started as interesting as you'd expect.
We made an agreement the previous day to go to the beach. Cliffon Beach was the most recommended and we headed there. I love the beach as much as Megpeters, Nonso had to be dragged there cause he had no choice - hehe, women will always win.
Although it's easy to say he had a lovely time because he couldn't stop staring at me in my bikini - I don't trust that boy. We had fun at the beach and enjoyed the waters, who doesn't like water - not me😁
We had to leave the beach early since we needed to catch our flight in the evening. While leaving the beach we bought some lucky charm bracelets which were sold to us by one of the locals. It seemed like a nice idea to take a little.of South Africa back home with us.
Visiting South Africa has to be one of the best travel experiences we've ever had. Who knew Africa was this beautiful - okay to be fair, I knew. Africa is blessed with so much it's hard not to see the beauty in it.
We almost missed our flight because we didn't get to the airport in time but I'm glad we didn't. The flight back home mostly involved excited talks about the whole trip and sleeping. Will I visit South Africa again, of course I will!
