In the pictures you see my hand and my husbands hand with the hail that just fell out of the sky in the night.
Let me take you through the experience that happened here less than 20 hours ago.
When you are on holiday the weather is one of the most important things to have. Great weather that is. And in summer that usually is great. Warm and nice. This year it started great but yesterday was hell on lake Garda. Code orange and the
times a hail rain like I / we have never seen before.
The ice balls were huge and you could seriously get hurt trying to salvage stuff outside. And while we were getting the table garden set and chairs in we saw the car. The balls hit the hood and window and we trew over a blanket and some garden cushions,
but the damage was done.
Our car but all the cars here in town were damaged. The hail was huge and three times we had to see that it hit us.
We had a day of assurance and phone calls to garages and getting things fixed.
Thank god we are all alright. As you can see in the Telegraaf, Facebook and Twitter

with questions “are you ok?” )

The articles send by friend who are still in the Netherlands. Some will go on holiday here next week to Italy and we’re asking what happened and what can be done as an precaution. We now used the air beds of the boys and put them on the car to protect the windshields, let’s hope we will be fine. But the code orange is still there.
I was a bit scared last night. Now almost 12 o’clock I hope we have a safe and no hail kinda night. I am blessed to be ok but the damaged car sucks.
Travel advice is to always check the weather.
Try to always shield your window front screen and be insured. This is not foreseen but a reality. Nature is changing!
