We always wanted to do one specific thing—climb the secret tower of Valencia's La Lonja. We sent emails and talked to people but without success. Our wish was finally granted after 16 years of living in Valencia.
There is a tour of these towers, and you can register by sending an email. You do need to pay for the regular entrance to the Silk Market, but the tower tour is free! The winding staircase up the tower is already a huge highlight, but the best part, of course, is the view from the tower over Valencia. From up there, you see everything! The Torres de Quart, Torres de Serranos, the bell tower of Santa Catalina, and of course, the Micalet. And let's not forget the unique views over the Mercado Central.
