So basically i have been plying this route to and fro since 2017, since i got admission into one of the prestigious Federal universities in Nigeria, located at Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria. Based at Port Harcourt the capital city of Riverstate, were i grew up also.
So i've been using public transport often to and fro the two state to school, holidays, during vacation so i'm used to the public system of transportation especially in a very crowded and busy city like port harcourt.
I usually don't like to go the official motor park because their fees are usually high and some time they take longer time to fill up their 18-seater bus, so i often like to use the private parks when coming from port Harcourt to uyo.
So the pattern is always the same once you enter the park, you pay for the ticket and wait, till the bus is filled which usually takes about 30-1 hour depending on how many passengers left.
But this time around it was different, when i got to the park it took almost 2hours plus before we were complete, before then one of the passengers who was also with us got pissed and said he needed refund, started yeiling and cursing, the car was taking too long and could not stay any longer he needed to go immediately, according to him he was going to pass another state before reach his destination.
We all pleaded with this passenger to keep calm and wait a little longer so that we will complet and move more over this was a private car Old model Toyota Land Cruiser V8 that only takes about 9 passengers at most, we were just 7 and needed just two more to go.
This man would not take no for an answer, insisted for a refund, and there is a No-Refund-Policy in the park that once payment is made there is no Refund of money, this passenger kept Threatening the park boys agbero for his money, i was just laughing at this grown up man acting childish or is it his first time of boarding a public transport that he wouldn't want to wait?...
After all the back and forth argument, they finally arrived a resolution that he will still have to wait till the car is filled then his money refunded to him, it took approximately two hours, thirty minutes for the bus to be filled the his money was refunded back before we moved.
Usually it does not take this long lonf, i've never had to wait this long, maybe today's was different maybe not many passengers were travelling today, the sun was scorching hot, the car was becoming so unbearable to stay, i was becoming uncomfortable too, but there is nothing i can do but to wait and be patient.
The Driver was a nice guy who understood the roads very well and knew how to navigate through it, sooner than i thought we had gone far, within two hours Thirty minutes i had arrived in uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria, during christmas when i travelled from uyo to porthacourt it was approximately a 3-Hours, 30-minutes journey that means our driver today was fast enough beating the other records, or may be it was just because this was a Toyota land cruiser with V8 Engine, while the other was a coastal bus with less engine capacity.
