I have been lucky enough to visit America four times so far in my life. There is so much to do and see there, I would gladly go again. Maybe some sort of grand circle trip to pick up more of the National parks, some snow skiing and even parkrun or two. So far, in reverse order, I got to run the 2018 New York Marathon with a side trip to Washington D.C and Philadelphia. In 2011 it was Universal Studios in Los Angles with my son and a ski trip to Canada. 1996 was Florida and this 10 dayish Contiki Western America Hotel Tour and I was there briefly on around the world ticket in 1996 checking out Disneyland and Knotts berry farm with its fastest or biggest roller coaster ride the world.
I am going to struggle with some of these photos because I never wrote anything on the back, I think this is a beach in San Diego.
San Diego Zoo
I think this was on the way to Phoenix.
The Grand Canyon was definitely my favourite place of the whole tour, we stayed in cabins on the rim, I was keen to run/walk to the bottom and back but no one on the tour would join me and the bus manager said it was not wise. I talked one of the others to join me on a bit of a run around to rim in the afternoon. It was the first time I had done any running at elevation and could not believe how much harder it was. I was sort of expecting the top of the canyon to be at sea level and the canyon deep below but obviously the whole lot is high up in a mountain range. With our one and only full day in the Canyon I decided to splashing out on a helicopter ride to the bottom and visit an Indian Reservation. Usually I am really tight with my money but I thought this might be a once in a life time thing. I can not be a 100% sure but going off google maps and my water fall photos I think it was the Havasupai Indian Reservation, the tour included some lunch and a horse ride to the falls for a swim.
Los Vegas was pretty cool too, we did some show in the new part of town and walked around the old tourist strip. Some the others did some gambling but I was already close to broke.
