Good evening all hivean friends, good luck with all your activities, may you always be given health to continue sharing and may you be given a long life and achieve all your goals.
In my post this time, I will tell you about an experience I had while doing an expedition in the wild on one of the mountains which according to the surrounding residents is a mountain that has a million charms and also a hidden myth in it that the mountain is in the Bener Meriah district. Aceh Province
When you hear the word Gunung Kapal, it is certainly very foreign to some people. even though this mountain is close to Mount Geureudong. like Geureudong, this mountain also has a tree structure and almost the same terrain. it does not offer peak beauty like Merapi (Burni Telong). but the beauty and exotic of the trees.
Moving from the UKM-PA Secretariat of JIPALA IAIN Lhokseumawe, we made at least a 3 hour trip us a car to the Permata sub-district where the temperature in the area is very cold because the sub-district is in the highlands of Gayo Land which is known as Coffee and also the temperature is very cold. When we arrived at the Permata sub-district, we immediately visited one of the village heads' houses to stay in touch and also look for additional information about the mountain.
After a bit of talking and digging up information from the village head, we went straight to the second resident's house recommended by the midwife, namely to Abu Arif's house as the locals called it. After talking with Abu Arif, we felt that the information we had gathered from him was complete enough, we hurriedly said goodbye to him to go directly to the mountain location we wanted to go to, namely Gunung Kapal, Permata District, Antara Art Village.
Without wasting much time, we went straight to our destination, armed with basic knowledge about the outdoors and also the mapping we got while studying at UKM-PA JIPALA, we immediately projected the location using Maps, GPS, Compass and other tools to find out where we are on the map and also the path to get to our destination
Our hike starts from the village of Benar Pepanyi, Permata District, Bener Meriah Regency on 10/7/21. With a team of 8 men. With slippery terrain and under the rain we managed to reach the peak on the third day 12/07/21 at 16:37 WIB.
Mount Kapal has a height of 2783 MASL. Yes it is the highest peak. because to get here we have to pass several peaks. Well, if we refer to the topographic map of the mountain, the ship has 3 peaks. With a slightly different height.
Thank you to everyone who helped with this expedition. and for young souls to continue to grow positive activities. I have learned many lessons and knowledge from mountain climbing. I enjoy doing it. And hopefully we are all people who care about the environment.
