MAGHRIBAN AT ISTIQLAL Magnificent, Peaceful, Makes You Feel at Home! 🌙🕌
So the story is that day I stopped by the Istiqlal Mosque right before Maghrib. My initial intention was just to look around because they said it was the largest mosque in Southeast Asia, but it turned out… I actually felt at home and immediately joined the prayer there!
As soon as I entered the mosque area, I immediately felt the majestic and calm aura. The building is very large, the dome towers high, the interior is super spacious and clean, and the sound of the call to prayer… Masya Allah, goosebumps! 📿✨
As soon as I entered the main room, the floor was very cool (literally cool because the AC was cold haha), the lighting inside was also just right—not too bright but calming. There were many worshippers, but they were still orderly and neat. I sat while waiting for the iqamah, taking the time to look at the details of the architecture which was modern but still had a strong Islamic feel. There was large calligraphy around the dome, so cool! 😍
When Maghrib prayer begins, the imam's recitation is melodious and it makes you feel solemn. It really feels cool to pray in such a historic and magnificent place, but it still feels warm and comfortable. After finishing the prayer, many people continue to dhikr and read the Qur'an. But it's not uncommon for people to take selfies secretly in the corner (me too... just a little 😅).
Well, this the one thing that I really like, namely the peaceful atmosphere and makes my heart feel relieved. It's perfect for taking a break from the hustle and bustle of Jakarta. Oh yeah, the facilities also complete—there is a clean ablution area, lockers, toilets, and even a large parking area. It is also easy to access because it is close to Juanda station.
so, maghrib prayer at Istiqlal is not only worship, but also a kind of healing. The grandeur is amazing, the atmosphere is calming. You must try it if you're in Jakarta!
My rating: 10/10 for spiritual vibes and the epic view of the dome!
