I am Jupiter.
I am the fifth planet from the Sun.
My name was given in antiquity (observed by Babylonians ~2000 BCE).
I was named by Ancient Babylonians (as Marduk), Greeks (as Zeus), Romans (as Iuppiter).
My name came about because as the largest and brightest after Venus, I was linked to the king of gods; Greeks called me Phaethon ("shining one").
My name means Roman king of the gods (equivalent to Greek Zeus).
An interesting fact is Jupiter's immense size made it a fitting namesake for the chief deity; its moons were named after Zeus's lovers, continuing the mythological theme.
