Today we are back in Singapore for Part 2 of my look into what might surprise you is a very good city for Street Art
How could a man who always has a camera in his hand resist this piece of art, which on on the side of a vintage camera museum.
This is a piece that my partner who had been in Singapore just prior to the pandemic remembered fondly - it's surprising that it was still here, but I get the feeling that street art in Singapore is more legal, more commissions and less organic than what we see in Melbourne.
This piece was on a wall of a former army barracks that has been turned into a series of art galleries, frankly some of the work on the outside of the building is more interesting than those inside.
This piece or rather pieces on a wall near the University is more like what I would expect to see back home in Melbourne, a wall that is talking, multiple pieces overlaid with each other and wall that gets more and more interesting each time you look at it.
And this - which gives you a idea of the scale of some of these commissioned pieces on the side of the old Shop house - this one in Jalan Besar was stunning - the story of Singapore, a jungle a tropical wonderland and a trading hub.
