There is a area in Singapore which is famous for it street art and this is Kampong Glam - which is a older area of Singapore full of shop house and therefore a the perfect scale for street art. It also has back laneways and service entrances and all of the small spaces which make street art work.
The Larger work at the back (and seen below is by Japanese Tattoo artist Sei Nishiyama. The more tradtional artwork seemed to have lost it's sign but from pics on the internet is a later addition.
Always useful when the artist signs their work - this appears to be from Prettyfreakyfriday - I like how it interacts with the power box.
The following three pieces are all on a single wall they are by Yip Yew Chong and is called 'The story of coffee - showing the three main ways to get your coffee in Singapore - my tip go tradtional, strong and sweet at a hawker market. As for the art work there is something about the rust stains that kind of look like coffee that I love about this
And one final piece is by artist Ernest Zacharevic (and Lithuanian artist now living in Malaysia) who painted it in 2013 - or at least the kids in the trolleys are - the context of them have changed since they were painted - which is of course the concept of street art - they trollies themselves are now public pantrys and the kids now live inside a trolley in a computer game on a screen
And a big shout out to this site which has a heap more information on the pieces and a helpful guide if you are heading to Singapore - which you absolutely should.
