This is not the first time I have seen this mural because it is located in a park in the city center of Banda Aceh. However, it was only yesterday that I took the time to take a picture of this mural. This mural is a picture of several female dancers who demonstrate the movements of a traditional Aceh dance called Ratoh Jaroe. This traditional dance was used for the opening of the SEA Games in 2018 which was held in Indonesia. If you are interested in seeing the visual, please visit the following link:

The flower on the back of the dancers is a Cempaka flower or known as Bungong Jeumpa. This flower is known to have a fragrant aroma and philosophically, for the people in Aceh, it is interpreted as a reminder for the young generation to be able to scent their region. This flower is also used as the title of a folk song, which is also played as background music in the video I shared above. Apart from this mural, I also found paintings of this flower on the walls around this park.
In addition to female dancers, on the same wall, there are also paintings of 2 men who also seem to be performing regional dances, but for this one, I don't know the type of regional dance.
On the other side of the park, I also found another large mural. The objects drawn on this mural were a man playing a flute, and a woman carrying a traditional food called Timphan on a placemat. The clothes worn by the two people in the picture are regional clothes that seem to be used in big events such as a wedding or other formal events. After exploring the entire side of the park, I didn't find any other murals. As it was getting later in the day and the sun was getting hotter, I decided to head back.
And here we are at the end of the post!
