Ayer estuve en el municipio 10 de Octubre, acá en La Habana, y durante mi larga caminata no pude dejar de tomar estas fotos. Este en un antiguo edificio residencial al que le hicieron un inmenso graffiti en toda la extensión de su costado. Una forma de embellecer el entorno.
Les muestro cuatro fotos de un mismo sitio en diferentes momentos. Sólo segundos separan a una imagen de otra. Pueden ver como auto( tractor) y personas cambian de posición. Es el constante movimiento de la vida que jamás no se detiene.
Como ven, en el centro del graffiti hay un gran corazón rodeado de ventanas abiertas por donde entra la esperanza. Se me antoja creer que ese corazón representa el latir del barrio, un corazón que se resiste al tiempo y a la decadencia, como cada cubano.

Yesterday I was in the 10 de Octubre municipality here in Havana, and during my long walk, I couldn’t resist taking these photos. This is an old residential building that was adorned with this massive graffiti spanning its entire side—a way to beautify the surroundings.
I’m sharing four photos of the same spot taken at different moments. Mere seconds separate one image from the next. You can see how cars (tractor) and people shift positions—life’s constant, unceasing movement.
As you can see, at the center of the graffiti is a large heart surrounded by open windows where hope enters. I like to believe that heart represents the neighborhood’s pulse—a heart defying time and decay, just like every Cuban.
