Good friends of Streetart today I want to show you some murals that I have seen many times, in the Callejón de Hamelt, I have a very good friend who lives on the corner and has not visited for a long time and I decided to do it last week and even though I had seen them I had never photographed them.
These murals are historical, they have been there for almost 20 years, contrary to the characteristics of this type of art, the artist is Salvador González Escalona, he did them in 1993, but every year he retouched them, I speak in the past tense because the year passed away, on April 16, a sad loss for Cuban culture and for that little place in Havana that had been transformed and treasured for many years, since 1990.

Estos murales son históricos, llevan ahí casi 20 años, contrario a las características de este tipo de arte, el artista es Salvador González Escalona, los hizo en el año 1993, pero todos los años los retocaba, hablo en pasado porque el año pasado falleció, el 16 de abril, una triste perdida para la cultura cubana y para ese pequeño lugar de la Habana que había transformado y atesorado por muchos años, desde 1990.
The Callejón de Hamelt is located in the Havana municipality of Centro Habana, on Hospital and Aramburo streets, in that place that now seems magical, Salvador came almost by chance to paint at a friend's house and little by little he began to paint facades. until turning that neighborhood into a cultural center where the locals came together and supported him and he settled there for years and not only did murals, here I leave a brushstroke of his art. I invite you if one day you come to Cuba, do not forget to visit the place, it is very interesting and contains a lot of art.
El Callejón de Hamelt está ubicado en el municipio habanero de Centro Habana, en las calles Hospital y Aramburo, en ese lugar que ahora parece mágico, Salvador llegó casi de casualidad a pintar en casa de un amigo y poco a poco comenzó a pintar fachadas. hasta convertir ese barrio en un centro cultural donde los lugareños se unieron y lo apoyaron y allí se instaló durante años y no solo hizo murales, aquí les dejo una pincelada de su arte. Ese primer mural me fascina principalmente por algo que el artista deja plasmado en una parte del mural, un cartel que dice “Puedo esperar más que tú porque yo soy el tiempo” He leído esa frase en diferentes etapas de mi vida, tiene mucha razón, y ahora se que el creador de este proyecto no esta físicamente con nosotros, pero su obra perdura, le veo aun mas sentido.
