Hi all 👋🏻
Today I want to share with you something VERY SPECIAL - a large eco friendly #StreetArt that I found in ROME ITALY 🇮🇹 Created with special #paint!
Can this paint really change the #pollution in large cities?
The first photo will be my entry into the “CCC's Street Art Contest #96” hosted by

Let’s have a look at what I found in Rome 😊
Artists: Federico Massa - aka Iena Cruz
Location: a residential building in the neighbourhood of Ostia, Rome - Italy 🇮🇹
Title: ’Hunting Pollution’
Created 2018
Location on Google maps, see the yellow star:
It’s the crossing with Via del Porto Fluviale and Via del Gazometro in zona Ostiense, Rome Italy.
More information about this work can be found In the following website.
It States (slightly adjusted in my words):
”This mural was painted with Airlite paints, an innovation 100% made in Italy. It uses photo-catalysis that is activated by light, which frees its oxidizing molecules which can transform the harmful particles in the air. This will reduce the level of pollution: volatile organic composts, nitrogen monoxide and dioxide in the air, the presence of toxic bacteria and much more.”
“ ”Hunting Pollution” represents a heron resting on a barrel of oil, the symbol of our society, which is apparently incapable of stopping the self-destructive process of consuming our planet’s resources and disrupting the balance of Nature, with obvious consequences on the climate. ”
~The location for this mural was perfectly chosen as this is one of the main areas in Rome that has a high air pollution… will this mural bring a change to it?
When I was walking around there I did notice the smog, dust and exhaust fumes of the cars…
Should artists around the world change to paints like this more? What are your thoughts about it?
I think, yes! Why not… every little bit that we can do to help Mother Nature recover again, is a good step forward. We need to wake up more people and start changing things. I use less harmful paints already, mostly water based. Non toxic ones. I recycle, upcycle furniture, pick up trash, don’t use plastic bags etc…
But back to the StreetArt 😉 and artist!
Artist’s : Instagram.
The artists website can be found Here.
It States: ”That this mural was Awarded the biggest Eco-Friendly Mural in Europe, realized in collaboration with Yourban 2030.”*
Let me show you more of it. 😊
From further away we see… the whole building.
A close up on the heron:
I like that the paint is still so vibrant, even though it’s function is so different. 😁😎 A beautiful work, with a meaning behind it and a purpose! Great combo 😃
2 more bonuses that I found in Rome
Artist unknown… do you see all the tags around it?
What I did notice in Rome when we were there.
All buildings, including the monuments and historical structures are tagged with black paint 😳😳😳 one think I didn’t like about Rome. Why would you do that on historic architecture/ buildings… it truly was everywhere.
A large StreetArt I just couldn’t get a good angle of and all the cars in front of it just didn’t help…
But I like the work in black and white of famous people portrayed.
Artist: JB Rock
Location: Via dei Magazzini Generali, Rome Italy 🇮🇹
Title: “Wall of Fame”, a 60 metres work that rolls famous charachters as Dante Obama, Elvis and even Zorro over a red background. Source.
And that’s all for todays #StreetArt post. Until the next one! 👋🏻😎
Hope you enjoyed my photos of this innovation in paints and the mural created with it - and a few more #StreetArt finds in Rome.
Thank you for looking and reading 😊 🙏🏻
Any questions or comments, let me know. Always happy to help.
Have a great day all 😎
