Visually, the atmosphere in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is at its best after the sunset ...
... when the warm glow of the lanterns plays with the colder hues of the surrounding gloom.
It's a great time for screenshots, that's for sure ...
... so I tend to forget about the missions and stuff, replacing the action with simple evening walks in search of something to freeze in a static screenshot.
When the moon is full, things look even better.
After dark, quite a few cityizens get drunk on the streets of the Renaissance city in this game.
Here you can see two happy ladies with antique bottles, probably filled with wine.
Maybe they are celebrating something ...
... or just having fun. We'll probably never know.
In those 16th-century days, lanterns illuminated only small areas on the important squares and by the entrances of taverns, brothels, and similar places.
Most streets were dark and potentially dangerous, so people had to carry their own lantern or torches at night. The wealthy had servants or slaves to light the way.
It's great to see people with lanterns in the game; they look a bit like human fireflies.
In this picture, my avatar is posing at the top of some monument, surrounded by lovely red flowers provided by the HD texture mod.
Here you can see a tailor shop basking in warm light while the surroundings are pretty dark.
There isn't much I can say about this screenshot; just a quick look at the Pantheon at dusk.
This and the following picture ...
... show a group of wealthy Renaissance people enjoying the evening and each other's precious company. They formed an almost perfect circle under the arches of a loggia. The scene made me think of some circle-jerks on potentially lucrative decentralized social networks like Hive.
In this screenshot, my avatar is hanging on the arch of a passage of sorts, can't tell you the precise word for that piece of architecture.
This picture shows the same scene from a slightly different angle, and my avatar is hanging in a different pose.
Here you can see him watching the masks for sale on one of the many stands. A long time ago, in real life, I was crafting these kinds of masks when I was studying in Venice.
This screenshot shows some people and a stand with some spices and similar dried-out stuff.
Some Assassin's Creed games (Not all-absolutely not all!) are very good at creating immersive and fairly believable moments of history. That makes them stand out in a world filled with many interesting games.
Here you can see some ordinary people and some soldiers hanging out in the evening on one of the many smaller squares of the city.
In this screenshot, my avatar is posing near one of the biggest fountains I encountered so far in the game. The following picture ...
... shows the same scene from a different angle. My avatar is closer to the fountain now.
In this screenshot, taken near the Pantheon, the full moon is in the sky, but is partially hidden by the user interface elements.
Here you can see a fire-eater preparing his breath for the next phase of the street act.
And here comes the fire!
And then, another one!
And that's it ...
... the post ends here - THE END.
