Guided by KK's disembodied voice, I navigated a surreal realm to dismantle a creature's defenses. After reuniting, we witnessed the Hannya's grim ritual. Despite Akito's fierce persistence and a daring jump to save his sister, a powerful energy threw him back as the ritual reached its conclusion.

I started following the creature as KK was suggesting me to go for its tail while we were still separated. KK was not being seen in his physical form, but I could hear him clearly echoing in my mind. His guidance was my only anchor in that distorted space.

I started following the creature through the shifting debris, but it was a tough job staying out of sight. As I was not sure what to do about its heightened senses, and when I was trying to attack it, I was getting spotted and nearly overwhelmed.

Every time I was getting spotted, I kept hiding in the only hiding spot available to reset its path. From there, I checked on the creature's movements and at last, I destroyed one of its three tails.

Suddenly, the shift of the surreal world changed, and the creature got banished into the darkness for a moment. The architecture around me groaned and twisted, reflecting the damage I had dealt to the spirit's core. I prepared myself for the next phase of the hunt.

Then I noticed it came back, and as I understood my objective perfectly, this time I destroyed another tail real fast. I moved between the pillars of light, timing my strike perfectly to sever the connection. The creature seemed much more erratic and frantic.

So it was the last tail I needed to take care of, but it got a lot tougher as the creature got more careful. It kept its distance, forcing me to wait for the right opening. But at last I made it, finished the job.

After destroying all three tails, the creature got vanished and KK returned to me at last. I felt the familiar rush of power as our spirits fused once again. We left this nightmare realm and headed back to the real world.

Akito found the dead body of the Hannya nearby, a grim sign of the dark magic at work. There was the lead Hannya working on their ritual site, having his daughter beside him.

To stop them, Akito tried to rush to them before they could finalize the spell. But the ground started shaking and opening up, revealing a dark abyss below the ground.

Akito was persistent as he wanted to save his sister anyhow, no matter the cost. So he ran fast and tried to attack the Hannya after trying a big jump across the gap. His hand reached out, trying to break the ritual's hold.

But something happened that threw Akito backwards with a massive wave of energy. It looked like the ritual was completed after all, as the light intensified around the altar. We could only watch as the barrier between life and death seemed to dissolve.
