I was planning on jumping straight into a mission today, but the game had other ideas. As soon as I loaded in, I noticed a gang of bounty hunters closing in on my position. Instead of a standard shootout, I wanted to make this encounter unique.
I ran out of my tent and fired a blank shot into the air to draw them in and ensure they wouldn't lose my trail.
The hunters took the bait and swarmed the camp. I already commanded my horse to leave me so he was escaping right away. I realized I was on my own, surrounded by a group of men determined to collect the price on my head.
To give this fight a twisted edge, I decided to take away their mobility. I started targeting their horses, aiming to force the riders onto the ground where they would be much more vulnerable.
It was a brutal strategy, but watching them tumble into the dirt changed the dynamic of the fight.
While I was busy neutralizing the horses, the hunters were hammering my position with return fire. To make matters worse, they had brought a pack of attack dogs that charged at me with terrifying speed.
I decided the dogs had to go first if I was going to survive. So, I started picking them off one by one. There were about four or five of them snapping at my heels, but I managed to clear the pack and give myself some breathing room.
With the dogs dealt with, I went back to my original plan. I didn't want to end the fight quickly; I wanted to make them struggle. I focused on non-lethal shots, aiming for the hunters limbs to keep the chaos going without finishing them off just yet.
I managed to shoot the gun right out of one hunter's hand, and I continued picking off the remaining horses. Watching the hunters scramble to their feet and realize they were now stranded on foot, was exactly the kind of "unique" fight I was looking for.
As they lost their mounts, the hunters started falling back, desperately seeking cover behind trees and rocks. I took this opportunity to focus on the ones who were still tangled up with their fallen horses, picking them off before they could regroup.
To wrap things up with a bit of tactical flair, I broke away from the immediate area and took cover behind some large rocks. From there, I could overlook the entire mess I'd created and plan my final approach. I can promise you, those final moves were not going to be pleasant for the survivors.

Here I'm finishing the post for today, and I'll talk about more special RDR 2 gaming moments in Gaming Photography.
