I investigated a mysterious campfire on my way to Pronghorn Ranch, where I found only an empty camp and startled wildlife. After surviving a brutal wolf attack with my knife, I harvested the pelts to fund my new life as a rancher. However, my peaceful ride ended abruptly when robbers ambushed me in the foggy night.
Hi, I'm back with another contribution to Gaming Photography community and this time I'm going to join Gaming Photography Weekly Contest.
While riding back toward Pronghorn Ranch, I spotted a pillar of smoke in the distance. I decided to investigate and found an empty campsite, though there was no sign of whoever had lit the fire.
Hoping the owner might return with a lead on some work, I sat down by the campfire and waited for a while. The crackling of the wood was the only sound in the quiet wilderness.
Once I realized no one was coming back, I walked down to the riverbank to see if anyone was fishing nearby. Instead of people, I only found a few wild animals that quickly got spooked and bolted when they saw me approaching.
With the sun starting to dip, I decided to leave the area before it got too late. I guided my horse through the shallow waterway, keeping an eye on the treeline as the shadows grew longer.
A pack of wolves suddenly ambushed me. I managed to take down two of them, but the third one spooked my horse so badly that it bucked and ran off, throwing me hard onto the ground.
The lone wolf lunged at me before I could reach for a rifle. I had to defend myself with my hunting knife, eventually taking the beast down in a desperate struggle.
I whistled for my horse to return once the danger had passed. After skinning the first wolf, I carefully stowed the pelt on the back of my saddle.
A passerby rode by quietly while I was skinning the rest of the pack. I collected all the meat and bones to sell later; I'm trying to live a quiet life as John the rancher now, only killing when I'm forced to defend myself, or helping weak people.
I continued my ride toward the ranch, but the darkness seemed to fall out of nowhere. The sky turned black and a heavy mist began to roll in over the path.
The fog became so thick I had to light my lantern just to see the trail. Using photo mode, I noticed furious expression on John's face as he navigated the spooky terrain.
Another rider appeared out of the fog unexpectedly, which gave me a bit of a calm given how eerie the atmosphere had become.
I tried to pick up the pace to get home faster, but I was suddenly cut off by a group of robbers. One of them commented on what a nice mount I had, making it clear they weren't just looking for a chat.
Here I'm finishing the post for today and I'll come talk about more special RDR 2 gaming moments in Gaming Photography.
