I fought through Hiss reinforcements to reach the janitor's office, bypassing a suspicious room and a side quest. After a cryptic conversation with Ahti, Jesse was hired as his assistant and granted Clearance Level 2. I decided to use my new credentials to unlock previously inaccessible doors before heading to the plant.
Following the navigation symbols, I kept looking for the janitor's office, but I was ambushed by more Hiss soldiers. I had to take care of them on my way, using my service weapon and launch ability, to clear the concrete corridors of the shifting red resonance.
I knew the janitor's office was the other way, but this room attracted me. I went closer, and it looked like Jesse was not okay going in there; she seemed to sense a heavy, oppressive energy there.
I backed up and found the route towards the janitor's office. When I was close to the gate, I noticed another route that went somewhere for another mission, which was likely a side quest, but I chose to stay focused on the main path.
I didn't follow that side quest; instead, I went for the janitor's office directly and found the door unlocked. The industrial hum of the Maintenance Sector was muffled here, replaced by the faint, scratchy sound of a radio playing old Finnish music.
I found the janitor still mopping the floor, this time his own office floor. After meeting him, he acted as if I had been expected all along, and told Jesse she got the job as his new assistant.
Jesse told Ahti that they needed to get the lockdown lifted to reach other sectors. She asked him if he could help her get to the override, and he replied in the affirmative, saying it was just around the corner in his own peculiar way.
After the chat, he suggested Jesse go now and gave her Clearance Level 2. Now that I had the clearance, I decided to get back and check on the door I couldn't open before, as well as that side quest.
