I encountered a man Jin saved before meeting an armorer who gifted me the Samurai Clan armor, once belonging to Masako's son. After upgrading the gear, I joined Masako to tail the suspicious monk, Sogen. We followed him stealthily through the forest to a camp where he conspired with armed rebels.
I met this man whom I have saved earlier. He mentioned the refugees at the temple hardly believed a samurai was still alive and helping people. This interaction highlighted the growing legend of the Ghost among the terrified local population.
I found the armorer who was expecting me. She asked Jin to wait while she prepared the special gear Masako had requested for our mission.
I equipped the Samurai Clan armor and upgraded it immediately. The new plates offered better protection and gave Jin a formidable, traditional appearance.
This set focused on health and damage reduction, making it perfect for the heavy battles ahead against the Mongol and bandit forces.
Masako met me outside and revealed the armor belonged to her son. Gifting it to me was a heavy honor, signaling her absolute trust in my blade. She looked at the armor with a mixture of grief and renewed hope for vengeance.
Jin told Masako about Sogen's cold behavior. We took a high position to watch the temple exit, as she admitted she never truly trusted the monk. We watched the gates intently, waiting for any sign of movement from the suspicious man.
We spotted Sogen leaving the temple right after our conversation. He moved quickly, clearly heading toward a specific destination outside the safety of the holy grounds. His haste was a clear indicator that he had someone important to meet.
We tailed him through the Golden Forest, staying hidden in the tall grass. Sogen was paranoid and kept looking back, forcing us to move with extreme caution. Every time he stopped, we had to remain perfectly still to avoid detection.
The monk led us to a hidden camp filled with armed rebels. It was clear this was no ordinary meeting, as the men were heavily geared for war. The presence of so many mercenaries confirmed a larger conspiracy was at play.
We overheard Sogen telling the mercenaries that Masako was still alive. He was terrified and urged them to find any potential threats nearby, confirming his deep betrayal. It was the final proof we needed to justify Masako's quest for blood.
