Layla awoke harshly from the Animus to find Abstergo soldiers attacking her position. Using the skills of an assassin, she defended herself before learning that Deanna had been captured, and probably killed.
After returning to the Animus, Bayek received news from Aya and traveled to a farm to meet Hotephres for a new mission.
After that final moment with the Crocodile, it was Deanna shouting to wake Layla because she needed her immediately. It was a very harsh wake up from the Animus, and the physical toll was obvious as Layla started vomiting from the shock to her system.
There was a van parked in the alleyway where some Egyptian soldiers suddenly came over to neutralize me. Their goal was to recover the Animus and stop Layla from continuing her research.
Layla had been living in the mind of a trained assassin for the past however many hours. She was ready to rock and I started taking down those Egyptian soldiers quietly. I used a blade that she found on the way to assassinate the enemies, proving that the memories of the past had truly changed Layla's capabilities in the present.
There was this last Egyptian soldier who was searching around right at the dune area near the hideout. This environment gave me some cool shots while I was taking him down.
Then Layla heard from the radio that an Egyptian soldier was confirming a successful capture. They mentioned they had located the secondary target and were extracting her now. It was Deanna, the one who had been helping Layla all this time.
Layla decided to run and save Deanna from the soldiers, but a huge sandstorm was coming towards her position. The visibility dropped to zero and the wind was too strong to fight against, so she had to stop her pursuit for the moment.
Returning to seeing this through later with Abstergo, I went back to the Animus to continue the search for answers. Before plugging back in, Layla gave a defiant message to the Abstergo corps. She was not going to give up, and she wanted them to know that she was still in control of the situation.
After getting back into the Animus, I was back as Bayek at the villa entrance. This was where I had neutralized the Crocodile earlier.
I got a letter from Aya, where she mentioned they had made an important alliance with Pompey. However, the news from Apollodorus was mixed as those they had been tracking were not the real killers of Khemu.
There was this new quest where I had to speak to Hotephres at Philadelphia farm. I started riding my horse towards the farm to see an ending to this part of the mystery.
After reaching the farm, I noticed Hotephres was standing on a roof above. I still called Senu to check around the area for any hidden threats first. Then I met him and he said his wife Khenut was down at the lake and he would take me to her.
