I encountered an alien hiding within a thick fog it released to ambush us. After a successful huddle call strengthened the team, we cleared the area and followed Mantis through narrow passages into another battle.
The strange fog that we noticed last time was a substance that this space alien was releasing to get hidden. It swirled around us, obscuring our vision and making it impossible to see where the threat was coming from until the creature finally came visible.
As the alien became visible, it started attacking us, finding us totally unprepared for its speed. While we were fighting it, I noticed Mantis was far from the battlefield, appearing completely detached. I wondered if the environment was affecting her mind more than ours.
I called for a huddle after a long time, and to be honest, it was a mistake call though. But it did good as the team came out a lot stronger. The music kicked in, and we felt a renewed surge of energy.
After coming out of the huddle, we took down the alien easily with a coordinated strike. When it was gone, the fog was also gone, revealing the jagged landscape once more. We took a breath, thankful for the clear air before moving deeper in.
Then we followed Mantis through some tight holes in this alien space. We had to squeeze through the narrow passages.
I don't know what got into Mantis as she took us to more aliens. This time, it was another pair of twins, and they looked incredibly strong. Their armored carapaces glowed with an intimidating red hue as they prepared to charge at us.
As there were two of them, I focused on one while I sent the other guardians to the other one. I knew we took down one of them already, but I was surprised to see we were still fighting two. Another must have emerged.
No matter how many people were attacking those aliens, they were focused on me only. I felt the pressure as they ignored the other guardians entirely, keeping their sights locked onto my every movement as I tried to evade their heavy strikes.
No matter where I was flying off, they were following me relentlessly. I darted through the air using my jet boots but they were determined to bring the leader down first.
As they were so keen to get along with me, I was the one who called it off and finished them for good. I unleashed a final barrage of elemental shots, shattering their defenses and leaving the area silent once again.
I'll show what happens next later.
I personally took all the screenshots from my play and I used a logo of the game from online to use in the thumbnail.
